Guilherme Boulos broke the agreement with the event producer who was responsible for the rally where the National Anthem was sung in a neutral language. In an interview, the PSOL candidate said that if elected, neutral language will not be implemented in schools: “It won’t be. I didn’t realize that at the time [do momento do hino]the leadership of our campaign was not to sing the anthem in a neutral language. That’s why we made the decision to take the video off the air, that was the responsibility of the production company.”

The PSOL candidate for Mayor of São Paulo, Guilherme Boulos, broke the agreement with the producer of the event responsible for the rally in which the National Anthem was sung in a neutral language.

Zion Produções was hired to organize campaign events and, on August 23, received R $ 450,000. The psolist’s campaign said the company will no longer provide services to him, but was unable to say whether any of the amount will be returned.

“Logically, it was not a decision made by my campaign to do that nonsense with the National Anthem. That was a producer, who in turn employed a singer which led to that episode. Our campaign has set itself clearly, and the producer will not participate in other events,” Boulos told journalists this Wednesday (28).

Last Saturday (24) in a rally in Campo Limpo, in the south of São Paulo, the singer Yurungai changed the verses of the National Anthem “children of this soil” to “children of this soil”.

The Boulos campaign also released a statement saying it had not asked to change the words. “At no time did the campaign request or authorize changes to the lyrics of the National Anthem performed at the opening of the rally. The producer, the organizer of the event, was responsible for hiring all the professionals who worked to carry out the activity, including choosing and inviting the interpreter who sang the National Anthem.”

“Neutral language will not be implemented in schools”

Boulos denied implementing neutral language in the city if elected. Nor did he rule out the possibility of an alliance with the center to govern the city.

“It won’t be. I respect those who use, those who consider [a linguagem neutra]I don’t think it should be criminalized, but you have to dialogue sensitively, with the whole society”, said the psolist in an interview with GloboNews Central.
