Culiacán, Sinaloa – On the night of Monday, November 18, a wave of violence led to multiple emergency calls to 911 and prompted police responses from various levels of government.
Key incidents include the kidnapping of two individuals. The first case involved armed assailants who broke into the home of an active municipal police officer in the Quilá district, forced him out, and took him away. In a second incident, armed individuals in trucks abducted a blacksmith from Cosalá in the Valle Alto neighborhood of Culiacán. The State Attorney General’s Office is handling the investigations for both cases.
Before midnight, gunfire was reported in the San Juan, Guadalupe Victoria, Rincón del Humaya, Prados de la Conquista, and Santa Fe neighborhoods. Reports also indicated armed individuals driving through Stanza Florenza, Alcoyonqui-Sanalona, and Valle Alto. Authorities found no evidence to support these sightings.
In the Amistad neighborhood, unknown assailants shot up a house and set it on fire. The State Preventive Police confirmed there were no occupants inside, and the Attorney General’s Office is investigating the incident.
Additional reports from the night included the theft of 100,000 pesos in cash from a business in downtown Culiacán, damage to two garbage trucks, and two individuals injured by gunfire.
