GUNNAR Optiks and Alienware released the Alienware Bermuda Triangle gaming glasses on March 12, 2026. The glasses are designed to address digital eye strain associated with extended screen use during gaming, streaming, and multitasking.
The hardware is priced at $89 USD and features a wraparound shield-lens design. This single oversized lens eliminates the traditional two-lens frame setup, providing a panoramic field of view intended to remove frame edges from the user’s peripheral vision.
This design is specifically positioned for users utilizing ultra-wide monitors or multi-display configurations. The frames are constructed from a lightweight polymer in a color designated as Liquid Teal
and include adjustable nose pads for fit customization.
The glasses weigh 37.1 grams, or approximately 1.31 ounces.
Lens Technology and Blue-Light Filtration
The Bermuda Triangle glasses utilize patented blue-light-blocking technology. Users can choose between Amber or Clear lens tints, which offer different levels of filtration at the 450nm wavelength.
According to GUNNAR, the available lens options include:
- Clear Pro: Blocks 20% of blue light; intended for graphic arts and creative professionals requiring precise color rendition.
- Clear: Blocks 35% of blue light; designed for general office work and photo or video editing.
- Amber: Blocks 65% of blue light; the most popular lens option for general gaming.
- Sun: Blocks 90% of blue light; designed for outdoor digital device use in aerospace, automotive, or sea navigation.
- Amber Max: Blocks 98% of blue light; intended for sleep control, migraine management, and post-concussion treatment.
Beyond color tints, the glasses offer two different focus-lens power options. The Neutral Focus
is designed without focusing power for users who focus easily at near distances or for cross-room viewing. The GUNNAR-Focus +0.20
is designed to reduce ocular muscle strain for individuals with normal vision by providing sharper clarity at close range.
Ocular Health and Performance Claims
GUNNAR states that digital screen viewing can reduce the standard blink rate by up to one-third. To counter this, the glasses use high-wrap optics that sit close to the face to capture humidity near the eye.
This design creates a protected ocular microclimate intended to keep the eyes moist for longer periods. GUNNAR cites a long-term study conducted across three independent doctors’ locations where the alleviation of dry eye irritation was the most significant improvement in eye strain reported.
The same study indicated that 79% of subjects reported an increase in work performance while using the technology.
The Bermuda Triangle is part of a broader collaboration between the two companies that includes other models, such as the Roswell gaming glasses, which also combine Alienware design with GUNNAR optical science.
