Gunners Star in Shocking £600,000 Hashish Bust: Arsenal Player’s World Turned Upside Down
Former Arsenal Striker Arrested for Cannabis Possession
Scotland’s National Crime Agency has arrested and charged former Arsenal and Ipswich Town striker Guy Emmanuel-Thomas for possessing 60 kilograms of cannabis, worth £600,000, at Stansted Airport.
Emmanuel-Thomas, 33, a Greenock Morton player in the Scottish second division, was arrested by National Crime Agency officers on Wednesday. The agency discovered an estimated £600,000 worth of cannabis in his luggage on 2 September.

Emmanuel-Thomas has been charged with drug trafficking and is being held in custody. He is expected to appear in court later.
The English striker started his football career at the Arsenal Academy and played just five matches with Bristol City and Queens Park Rangers.
This is not the first instance of a football player being involved in a drug-related case. Former Ajax and Sevilla player Quincy Promes was previously sentenced in absentia to 6 years in the Netherlands for his involvement in a cocaine smuggling case.
