It garnered 646 million minutes viewed during March 3-9 and 570 million minutes from april 28 to May 4, placing it alongside contemporary hits like “Family Guy,” “NCIS,” and “Gray’s Anatomy.”
Owned by Paramount Global, Gunsmoke is available on Paramount+ and NBCUniversal’s Peacock. However, it draws the majority of its viewership from Pluto TV, Paramount Global’s free, ad-supported streaming service.

Neal Sabin, vice chairman of Weigel Broadcasting, noted the show’s consistent appeal. Weigel Broadcasting has aired Gunsmoke on MeTV since 2006, regularly drawing over 600,000 viewers during daytime airings. “If there’s a great show, people will seek it out wherever it is,” Sabin said.
Dan Cohen,chief content licensing officer for Paramount Global,attributes the show’s resilience to the loyal fan base of westerns,both domestically and internationally.The series is currently broadcast in several countries, including Australia, Germany, and Canada.
Cohen added that the popularity of “Yellowstone” and its spinoffs has created a “halo effect” for the western genre, boosting interest in shows like Gunsmoke.
