Sarah Sherman’s Willing Participation in Gwar Performance
Comedian Sarah Sherman, known for her body horror-inspired stand-up before joining the cast of Saturday Night Live, recently participated in a theatrical onstage “sacrifice” during a Gwar concert in New York City. The performance, characteristic of Gwar’s over-the-top, gore-filled shows, involved a band member simulating a sword attack on Sherman’s neck, accompanied by copious amounts of fake blood.
Sherman’s participation was entirely voluntary, adding a layer of performance art to Gwar’s established aesthetic. Fans anticipating Saturday Night Live‘s return after Thanksgiving break can expect Sherman to be back in action.
