‘Hacks’ Renewed for Season 5 on Max
the comedy series “Hacks,” highlighting the dynamic between a veteran comedian and her younger writer, will return for a fifth season on Max. The declaration by creators Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello, and Jen Statsky came just before the Season 4 finale.
Warner Bros. Revelation reports that Season 4 has drawn the largest audience yet, with viewership climbing episode by episode. The show explores the evolving relationship between Deborah Vance, a legendary comedian portrayed by Jean Smart, and ava Daniels, an aspiring comedy writer played by Hannah Einbinder.
Season 4 finds Deborah and Ava navigating new challenges. After Deborah becomes the host of a late-night talk show, Ava blackmails her way into the head writing position.
The cast of “Hacks” also includes Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato, and Rose Abdoo.
Downs and Aniello executive produce through their Paulilu banner,alongside Statsky via First Thought Productions,Michael Schur for fremulon,David Miner for 3 Arts Entertainment,and Morgan Sackett. Global Television produces the series.
