The critically acclaimed comedy series Hacks will return for a fifth season,Max announced. The renewal comes ahead of the season four finale.
Starring Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder, Hacks has become a flagship series for Max. The show has received 48 Emmy nominations, securing a win for Outstanding Comedy series in its third season. The Hacks renewal underscores Max’s commitment to quality comedy.
Season four has been a ratings success, with the streamer reporting it as the series’ strongest season to date. Hacks has consistently ranked among the top five series on Max in the U.S.and within the top 10 globally.
hacks was created by Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello, and Jen Statsky, who also serve as showrunners. Executive producers include Downs and Aniello, Statsky, Michael Schur, David Miner, Morgan Sackett, and Joe Mande. The series is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
