Hajj Pilgrimage Reaches 1.67 Million in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is currently hosting 1,673,230 pilgrims for Hajj 1446 AH,according to the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT). The annual Hajj pilgrimage represents a key event for Muslims worldwide.
Of the total, 1,506,576 pilgrims arrived from outside the kingdom, while 166,654 are domestic, including both saudi citizens and residents. GASTAT indicated that 877,841 of the pilgrims are male, and 795,389 are female.
Most pilgrims, 1,435,017, arrived by air.Land border crossings accounted for 66,465 arrivals, and seaports saw 5,094 pilgrims enter the country.
