Hajj Heat Warning: Saudi Arabia Advice 2024
Saudi Arabia Issues Hajj Heat Warnings for pilgrims
Updated June 09, 2025
As the Hajj season approaches, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and umrah has issued urgent safety guidelines for pilgrims amid forecasts of extreme heat. The ministry is prioritising pilgrim safety during Hajj, urging adherence to guidelines to ensure a tranquil pilgrimage.
Pilgrims are specifically advised to remain inside their tents on Arafah day between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The ministry also advises against visiting Jabal Al rahmah or Namirah Mosque during these hours to minimize exposure to the intense heat. These measures aim to mitigate the risks associated with high temperatures at the holy sites.
The ministry emphasized the importance of following authorization schedules and using approved transportation as outlined in the official plan. Walking between locations during designated times should be avoided. These guidelines are designed to maintain order and ensure the well-being of all pilgrims during Hajj.
The ministry also reminded pilgrims to safeguard their “Nusuk” cards, which are essential for identification and access to services. Pilgrims must carry the card at all times within the holy sites.
The ministry stressed the need to follow these guidelines to ensure the safety of all pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
What’s next
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is working with service provider companies to reinforce these guidelines, ensuring pilgrims can perform their rituals with ease and safety. Continued vigilance and adherence to safety protocols are expected throughout the Hajj season.
