Half-Life 2 is receiving a significant update to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The update includes:
- Steam Workshop Support: Players can access mod support directly in the game.
- Bug Fixes: Valve has fixed numerous bugs and restored lost content.
- Graphics Settings: New graphics options have been added.
- Gamepad Controls Update: Controls have been refined to match recent gaming standards.
Free Availability: Players can download Half-Life 2 for free on Steam until November 18th at 1 PM ET. After this date, the game will be available for $9.99.
Expansions Included: The expansion packs, Episode One and Episode Two, can now be played directly from the Half-Life 2 menu. Players will automatically progress to the next expansion upon completion of each one.
Map Improvements: Valve has made major updates to Half-Life 2’s maps, addressing longstanding issues and enhancing visual details. There is also an option to play with the original blood and fire effects from the game’s launch.
