Halle Berry’s Hollywood Rebellion: The Films She’s Done with Forever
Halle Berry on Reprising Her Superhero Roles: ”I’m in the Present”
Halle Berry made a significant impact in the superhero film industry, playing iconic roles such as Catwoman in the film of the same name and Storm in the X-Men franchise. However, she has expressed no intention of reprising either role.
Berry’s experience with the Catwoman film was not entirely positive. The movie, based on the DC Comics comic, was a box office flop, with its $100 million budget not fully offset by $82 million in worldwide ticket sales. The film was also nominated for seven Golden Raspberry Awards, winning five of them, including Worst Picture and Worst Director. Berry herself won the Worst Actress award.
In a recent interview with Comicbook.com, Berry was asked if she would return to any of her most well-known roles in the future. She explained that she generally doesn’t think about returning to work that’s already been done, especially superhero roles. “I’m in the present. You know, some of this stuff happened in the past, and I don’t know if I can go back to that. So I’m in the present,” she said, referring to her upcoming horror film, The Mother.
The Mother is a psychological thriller directed by Alexandre Aja, which follows a supernatural threat. Berry’s focus on her current projects suggests that she is not interested in revisiting her past roles, including Catwoman and Storm.
Berry’s decision to move on from her past roles is not surprising, given her negative experience with the Catwoman film. However, her fans may still hold out hope that she will one day reprise her iconic roles. For now, it seems that Berry is focused on her current and future projects, and is not looking back.
