“Hamas reveals a half-body and a mutilated body in the assassination of Muhammad al-Deif.”
The Palestinian resistance movement “Hamas” issued a statement today, Saturday, in response to media reports attributed to sources in the movement, which revealed the fate of leader Muhammad al-Deif.
Fate of Muhammad al-Deif
Media outlets cited Hamas sources as saying they had received new indications confirming the killing of al-Qassam Brigade commander-in-chief Muhammad al-Deif.
The sources indicated that contact with Muhammad al-Deif was lost after the operation targeting him last July, an operation in which Israel targeted al-Deif along with Rafi Salama, commander of the Khan Younis Brigade of the al-Qassam Brigades.
He added that “half a body” had been found, where he was targeted, and that it was originally that of Muhammad al-Deif, but this could not be confirmed at the time due to the mutilation of the body.
The sources concluded by saying that the body was buried in a graveyard in Khan Yunis.
Hamas’ response
Hamas denied media reports about the fate of al-Qassam Brigade commander Muhammad al-Deif, according to al-Hadath TV.
The movement said in its statement that “there is no truth to what was attributed to a source in the movement about the fate of Commander Muhammad al-Deif.”
Hamas calls on all media outlets to ensure accuracy, credibility and professionalism.
