Authorities have detained a 72-year-old patient on suspicion of starting the‍ blaze. The incident occurred⁤ on the ground floor of ⁢the hospital,‌ with smoke quickly filling the corridors and trapping many patients.

Firefighters, numbering 220, arrived ‍swiftly and extinguished the fire in‌ approximately 20 minutes. However,the rescue‌ operation was complicated by the fact that many patients were ​elderly⁤ and had mobility issues. Crews used ladders to reach patients calling for help from windows, unable⁣ to⁣ escape⁣ due to the smoke.
