A devastating fire at Marienkrankenhaus hospital in Hamburg, Germany, resulted in the deaths of three patients and left more than 30 injured. The Hamburg hospital fire broke out shortly after midnight in a room within the geriatric ward, located on the ground floor, according to authorities.

Firefighters responding to the scene encountered patients calling for help from the windows. Rescuers used ladders and interior routes to evacuate people from the affected area. A section of the hospital was temporarily evacuated as a precaution.
Of the injured, one person is in critical condition, 18 sustained serious injuries, and 15 suffered minor injuries, dpa reported.
