Hamilton’s Shocking Admission: Why He’s Not Losing Sleep Over Missing Out on Ferrari Deal
Lewis Hamilton Not Disappointed About Missing Out on Adrian Newey
Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time world champion, has expressed that he is not disappointed about not getting the chance to work with F1 design giant Adrian Newey at Ferrari next season.
Hamilton had previously mentioned that it would be a “privilege” to work with Newey, and the legendary designer was the number one person he would like to work with in F1. However, Ferrari were unable to secure Newey’s signing, and he ultimately joined Aston Martin.
When asked about his feelings on the situation, Hamilton replied, “Honestly, no. I said before that it’s a pleasure to work with Adrian, but I’ve had the pleasure of working with two teams in the Championship that didn’t have Adrian.”
Hamilton’s future Ferrari teammate, Charles Leclerc, shared similar sentiments, stating, “I’m not disappointed. It’s not that we didn’t try with Adrian, we didn’t talk to him. I know there were discussions and he made a decision. I respect his decision.”
Leclerc emphasized the importance of the team over individual talent, saying, “At Ferrari we have always thought of the group rather than the individual. Adrian, obviously, has a great record and has achieved incredible things. But we have a great group and I have no doubt that we will have a very strong team in the future to get back to the top.”
Leclerc also expressed his trust in Ferrari team principal Frédéric Vasseur, saying, “Of course, it is Frédéric Vasseur’s job to get the team in the best possible shape to win races, and I trust Fred 200% and am fully committed to his vision.”
