Cooling sheets are products that are attached to hot areas of the skin, such as the forehead and cheeks, to lower body temperature. They are also called adhesive antipyretics. The company explained that the large amount of moisture contained in the cooling sheet gel absorbs heat and evaporates, and the body temperature cooling effect lasts for about 10 hours.

It is in the form of a gel sheet, minimizing skin irritation and can be used on infants and those with sensitive skin.

Shin Shin Pharmaceutical analyzed that this surge in sales was not only due to the hot weather, but also the continued spread of infectious diseases such as COVID-19, hand, foot and mouth disease, pneumonia, and whooping cough between July and August. Most of these infectious diseases are accompanied by fever and high fever symptoms, so a rapid fever-reducing effect is required.

In particular, hand, foot and mouth disease has been occurring at the highest level in the past 10 years among infants and toddlers aged 0 to 6. Shin Shin Pharmaceutical explained that because it is a disease that commonly occurs from summer to fall, an increasing number of households are purchasing cooling sheets along with emergency medicine such as antipyretics even if there are no symptoms.

A Shin Shin Pharmaceutical official said, “Not only hand, foot and mouth disease, but also respiratory infectious diseases such as whooping cough are prevalent, so caution is needed during the seasonal transition period when immunity is weakened,” adding, “If you have a fever, you can effectively reduce it by using a cooling patch such as a cooling sheet along with an antipyretic.”
