Hanyang University ERICA, WISET Partner to Boost Women in AI Robotics
SEOUL – Hanyang University ERICA and the Korea WomenS Science and technology promotion Foundation (WISET) have forged a business agreement aimed at cultivating female talent within the burgeoning field of artificial intelligence (AI) robotics. The signing ceremony took place April 1 at the university president’s office.
Focus on AI Robot Talent
The core objective of this partnership is to bolster the presence of women in the AI robot sector and to facilitate the overall advancement of women in science and technology, particularly within high-tech industries. Key collaborative initiatives will include:
- Developing and implementing customized curriculum programs.
- Providing employment linkage and career development support.
- Establishing professional networks.
- Creating specialized networks.
Practical Training and Employment Programs
Under the agreement, the two organizations intend to jointly manage practical education and employment-focused programs. These programs are designed to enable women to secure positions in various science and engineering roles, such as robot-based process automation programming, maintenance, and engineering.
Intelligent Robot Automation Course
In May,plans are underway to launch an “Intelligent Robot Automation Practical Training Course” specifically for women in science and technology who are seeking to re-enter the workforce after career breaks. The course will offer comprehensive support for career transitions, encompassing robotics and automation technology education, corporate-linked practical projects, and employment assistance.
Building a Robot Education Ecosystem
Lee Ki-jung stated, ”Through this agreement, we aim to establish a robot education ecosystem centered around women in science and technology, and to nurture talented individuals who will be instrumental in the high-tech industrial arena.”
