Overview

This report summarizes incidents investigated​ by the⁤ Stewards at Sha Tin Racecourse on February 28, 2024. Incident Details

Horse No. 2: Super⁣ Sixty (J071)⁣ -‍ H Bowman

Super Sixty experienced interference at⁣ the​ start, being shifted in and bumped by another ⁤runner. A potential objection was raised by the fourth-placegetter, Super​ Sixty, concerning⁢ being steadied at the 150-meter mark. After reviewing patrol films, the Stewards resolute that Super sixty ⁢had not​ established clear running between Beauty Thunder and Zeta ‌hedge and therefore declined ⁢the protest.

Jockey H Bowman⁣ explained​ that ‌he ⁤attempted to improve between Zeta Hedge and Beauty Thunder in⁣ the Home ‍Straight. He stated ⁤that Zeta Hedge shifted in at the 250-meter mark, causing Super ⁢Sixty to be held up for clear running until the 150-meter mark.At that point, ​Beauty ​Thunder shifted out slightly, forcing Bowman to steady his mount.

Horse No. 3:‍ Warriors ‌Dream (K255) – R Kingscote

Warriors Dream was shifted ‌across behind runners in the early stages of the race from the outside barrier.

Horse No. 4: Master Resolute (K403) – E C W Wong

Master Resolute jumped slowly. While making the first turn near the 600-meter mark, the horse became unbalanced when racing tight ⁢to the inside of Beauty Thunder.

Horse No. 5: Zeta Hedge (K295) – C L Chau

C ⁢L​ Chau, rider of Zeta Hedge, received a ‌reprimand for using his whip in a manner where his hand was above shoulder height on one occasion near the 100-meter mark.This constitutes a breach of racing rules regarding whip usage.

The rules regarding whip use are designed⁣ to ensure horse welfare and⁢ fair racing. Jockeys are permitted a limited number of whip strikes, ⁣and the manner‌ of ⁤use is strictly ⁣regulated. Exceeding⁣ shoulder height is ‌considered⁤ improper use.
