Burj Al Arab Stadium,Egypt – The Border Guard team kicked off their Egyptian Professional Club League Cup campaign with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Ismaili at the Burj Al Arab Stadium.
The match, delayed by 15 minutes due to the absence of an ambulance, saw a flurry of goals in the first half. Ismaili struck first with Marwan Hamdi finding the back of the net in the 10th minute. Though,Border Guard quickly responded,with Abdel Rahman Gouda leveling the score just ten minutes later.Ibrahim Abdel Hakam then put Border Guard ahead in the 34th minute, securing the crucial win.
This victory earns Border Guard the first three points in Group IV, which also includes pyramids and Al-Ittihad Alexandria.
