Members of the British band Hard-Fi have been reflecting on their journey, from their initial rise to fame to their recent reunion. Kai, the band’s guitarist, shared insights into his personal evolution, while Ross, the drummer, discussed balancing family life with the band’s resurgence.
kai recalled his early days with Hard-Fi, noting that he “wasn’t getting enough sleep or living my best life” and needed to “sharpen up and straighten out.” He expressed respect for his bandmates and fondly remembered his pre-fame job in pest control, were his “tough guts” came in handy.
The band’s initial success was overwhelming for Kai. “Artistically I stepped up to the plate, but personally I lost the plot,” he admitted. He attributed his struggles to impostor syndrome and a growing dependence on alcohol, a topic less discussed at the time.After the band was dropped, Kai focused on fatherhood and personal growth.
