Harm’s Way
Career and Musical Evolution
Born Bohan Daniel Lueders in November 1987, the musician began his journey in the Chicago hardcore scene after learning guitar at age 10. He was influenced early on by bands such as NOFX and Blink-182.
Lueders co-founded Harm’s Way in 2006. The group originally began as a side project of the punk band Few and the Proud. Over time, the project evolved through a band called Convicted before becoming Harm’s Way, transitioning from power violence toward a style of hardcore punk blended with metal.
Throughout his tenure, Lueders helped the band release seven studio albums. The group’s discography includes releases on Organized Crime Records, Closed Casket Activities, and Deathwish Inc. Their most recent albums, Posthuman
(2018) and Common Suffering
(2023), were released via Metal Blade.
Lueders remained active on the road throughout much of 2025, performing as an opening act for Deafheaven and Knocked Loose on separate tours. His final live performance took place on February 7, 2026, in Los Angeles.
Podcast and Label Ventures
Beyond his work with Harm’s Way, Lueders expanded his influence in the hardcore community through media and business. In 2022, he and Colin Young of Twitching Tongues launched the podcast HardLore: Stories From Tour
.
The series began as a platform for Lueders and Young to share personal anecdotes from their time touring with their respective bands. The podcast eventually grew to feature interviews with a variety of personalities, including musicians and wrestlers associated with hardcore music.
The partnership further developed in 2024 with the launch of HardLore Records, a label established by Lueders and Young.
Early Life and Other Projects
Lueders grew up in the Chicago metropolitan area and attended school in Roselle. It was there that he met Christopher Mills, who would become the drummer for Harm’s Way. The two musicians originally formed a band together called Double Crossed.
Lueders was also known for his involvement in the straight-edge contingent of the Chicago hardcore community. In 2023, he joined the Louisville-based straight-edge hardcore band XweaponX, contributing to three of their releases.
Following the announcement of his death, a GoFundMe campaign was established to cover the costs of memorial services in Chicago. As of midday on April 3, 2026, the campaign had raised nearly $140,000.
