According to reports from The Hill, NBC and other media, on Monday (23rd) local time, the office of the campaign team of US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Harris in Arizona was damaged by shooting, but no one was injured.
The Hill reported that Tempe police in Arizona are investigating the shooting, which occurred as Harris plans to visit Arizona in the coming days.
NBC said that Tempe police said in a statement to the media on Tuesday (24th), “We can confirm that suspected damage caused by gunfire was found in the Democratic National Committee campaign office on September 23.”
According to the Associated Press, since no one was in the office at the time of the incident, law enforcement agencies classified the incident as a “property crime.” The Associated Press also said that Arizona Democratic Party campaign coordination manager Sean McEnany said in a statement, “We thank the Tempe police for arriving at the scene quickly. Fortunately, no one was at the scene and no one was injured.”
