The Harry Potter TV series on HBO has found its central trio.Dominic McLaughlin,Arabella Stanton,and Alastair Stout will portray Harry Potter,Hermione granger,and Ron Weasley,respectively,the network announced Tuesday. The Harry potter series promises a fresh take on the beloved books.
Casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann led the search. Showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod issued a statement praising the actors’ talent. They also thanked the thousands of children who auditioned for the Harry Potter roles.
“After an extraordinary search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione, and Ron,” gardiner and Mylod said. “The talent of these three unique actors is fantastic to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen.”
McLaughlin, Stanton, and Stout join previously announced cast members including John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore and Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall. Also joining are Especially Essudes as Severus Snape, Nick frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch.
Filming is scheduled to commence this summer. The series, described as a faithful adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s book series, plans to adapt one book per season. Rowling will serve as an executive producer.
