A Flood Watch and High Wind Warning are currently in effect across the Big Island, with a Winter Storm Warning issued for the peaks of Maunakea and Mauna Loa, anticipating snowfall up to two feet deep. Unusual for these parts, officials have even warned about potential brief, weak tornadoes.
