Hawaii Woman’s Father Dies by Suicide During Search for Missing Daughter
Tragic Update on Missing Hawaii Woman’s Father
The father of a Hawaii woman, Hannah Kobayashi, who recently went missing, was found dead in Los Angeles on Sunday. Police have not revealed the cause of Ryan Kobayashi‘s death, but his family reported that he died by suicide.
Ryan had traveled to Los Angeles to find his 30-year-old daughter, last heard from on November 11. She did not board a connecting flight to New York City during a layover at Los Angeles International Airport on November 8.
The Kobayashi family released a statement, expressing their grief over Ryan’s death. “After tirelessly searching throughout Los Angeles for 13 days, Hannah’s father, Ryan Kobayashi, tragically took his own life,” the statement said. It emphasized the family’s deep sorrow and the need to keep up the search for Hannah.
Since Hannah’s disappearance, Ryan had been actively speaking to the media, seeking help from the public. In their statement, the Kobayashi family urged the public to “maintain focus on the search,” stressing that Hannah is still missing and in imminent danger.
In the days before her disappearance, Hannah sent unusual messages to her family and friends. One message claimed, “Deep Hackers wiped my identity, stole all of my funds.” On November 15, the LAPD made a missing persons poster for Hannah, describing her appearance and tattoo.
Recent surveillance footage showed Hannah at a Metro train station, but the family reported she appeared to be in distress.
The Kobayashi family continues to ask for help in searching for Hannah, affirming her safety is their priority.
