IRVINE, Calif. — The University of Hawai’i women’s volleyball team defeated UC Davis in the semifinals of the 2024 Outrigger Big West Women’s Volleyball Championship. The match ended with a score of 25-22, 16-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-13, allowing the Rainbow Wahine to advance to the championship match against top-seeded Cal Poly.

Hawai’i, the second seed and defending champion, improved to 20-9 with this win. The team has played 11 five-set matches this season, with a record of 7-4 in those games. This victory marked the 44th time in program history that the Rainbow Wahine reached 20 wins in a season.

Caylen Alexander, the Big West Player of the Year, led the team with 22 kills and 17 digs, achieving her 28th career double-double. Jacyn Bamis contributed 15 kills, matching her career high, with a hitting percentage of .448. Tali Hakas and Stella Adeymi added 11 kills each, while Hakas also recorded 15 digs. Setter Kate Lang had 50 assists and 17 digs for her 49th career double-double. Libero Tayli Ikenaga led the defense with 19 digs.
