Host Broadcast Services has promoted Ronald den Hollander to chief executive, replacing long-serving CEO Dan Miodownik. Den Hollander will officially assume the role on October 1, taking overall responsibility for strategic direction, operational delivery, innovation, and continued growth at the television production company and its affiliates.
Infront, the international sports marketing agency that owns a majority 51% stake in HBS alongside soccer governing body FIFA’s 49% share, named den Hollander following an extensive succession process. Den Hollander steps up from his position as director of broadcast sites, operations, and services, a role he has held since 2024. He brings more than two decades of company experience and nearly a decade on the executive management team to the position.
Leadership Transition and Executive Departures
The incoming chief executive replaces Miodownik, who announced in April that he would step down at the end of September. Miodownik joined HBS in 2004 and was appointed CEO in 2018. Chief operating officer Luc-Antoine Charial is also departing after more than two decades with the company, having joined in 2000 and moved into the COO role in 2018.
Both departing executives stayed on past their announcements to deliver major sports projects through September. Those operations included the host broadcast of the FIFA World Cup, the US Open tennis grand slam, and the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championship.
Broadcasting Background and Major Event Delivery
During his tenure spanning over 20 years at HBS, den Hollander has held senior roles across construction, venue management, and broadcast infrastructure. His work includes designing, delivering, and operating international broadcast centers and facilities.
The incoming CEO is credited with delivering several major sporting events, including five editions of the FIFA World Cup, multiple UEFA European Championships, and various Asian Games.

Following an extensive succession process, we are delighted to appoint Ronald den Hollander to lead HBS into its next phase of development. HBS stands as one of the most capable host broadcast organisations in the world, built on a remarkable legacy of excellence, innovation and operational execution.
Philippe Blatter, President & CEO of Infront
Blatter added that den Hollander’s two decades of experience at the intersection of sport, broadcasting, and event operations makes him well-suited to ensure the company continues setting global production benchmarks.
Future Outlook for HBS Operations
Den Hollander acknowledged the significance of taking over leadership at this juncture for the broadcast sector, stating an intention to collaborate with partners and staff to shape the future of sports production.

I am honoured to lead HBS at this important moment for our industry and look forward to working with our partners and our exceptional team to shape the future of sports production and host broadcasting. Together, we will build on HBS’s strong foundations, continue delivering first-class services for our clients and drive innovation across all platforms.
