The union said, “The Korean Medical Association must participate in the newly launched ruling and opposition party consultative body,” and added, “It is only a half consultative body, with the opposition party absent and only two of the 13 medical organizations participating, but the conflict in the legislative process and the medical crisis that has been prolonged for over nine months are causing serious problems.” “It is a wide-ranging dialogue and consultation body in which not only the National Assembly but also the ruling and opposition parties representing the people participate in order to resolve the problem and achieve the speedy normalization of medical treatment,” he said.
He continued, “Now is not the time to question the format and conditions of dialogue, as the people are suffering due to the legislative conflict and medical crisis that has continued for nine months, and patients who could be saved are dying,” and “The cancellation of the medical school expansion in 2025, which the medical group is putting forward as a precondition, is canceled.” He raised his voice, saying, “It is nothing more than a shackle that blocks dialogue and consultation, and politics aimed at political gain should not interfere with resolving the medical crisis and quickly normalizing treatment.”
In addition, “political parties and medical groups should abandon their narrow-mindedness to protect political interests and vested rights and participate in the ruling and opposition party council with a forward-looking attitude as responsible parties to prevent the collapse of local healthcare, essential healthcare, and public healthcare that our country is facing. He argued that a solution to the medical crisis must be prepared and presented to the people.
