Louise O’Riordan is the co-founder of SISTERLY, a wellness brand designed to empower women through targeted nutrition. From a triumphant career in marketing, Louise pivoted to address a gap in the market – a holistic wellbeing solution specifically tailored to the female body. Here, she shares her personal wellbeing bible, her favorite escapes, and her vision for the future of SISTERLY.
The Foundations of Wellbeing: Louise’s Daily rituals
For louise, wellbeing isn’t a trend, it’s a lifestyle built on consistent habits and a deep understanding of what her body needs. She’s a firm believer in the power of small changes, and credits James Clear’s Atomic Habits as a cornerstone of her approach.
“It’s simple, powerful, and totally actionable – a must-read for anyone looking to build better routines,” Louise explains. “It’s about making those tiny, incremental improvements that add up to notable results over time.”
Beyond habit formation, Louise draws inspiration from a variety of resources. “R Health Club by Rosemary Ferguson is a super resource for inspiring recipes, health hacks and regular challenges. I also find Mel Robbins incredibly motivating for mindset shifts, and Dr. Stacy Sims has been invaluable in understanding female physiology, especially around hormonal health, training, and nutrition.” This focus on understanding the unique needs of the female body is central to SISTERLY’s philosophy.
Recharging & Reconnecting: louise’s Great Escapes
Balancing the demands of building a business with a commitment to personal wellbeing requires intentional downtime. For Louise, that means escaping to places that nourish her soul.
“Costa Careyes is a piece of heaven,” she says with a smile. “I go every year and time it with Ondalinda, a music and art festival a friend of mine runs. It’s a magical mix of sunshine, dancing, creativity, good food, and sea swims. I always leave recharged and inspired.”
This year, Louise is also looking forward to a wellness retreat with her mother at SHA Wellness Clinic.”It’s been on my travel wish list for a while. I love their approach to wellbeing, blending cutting-edge health technology with holistic practices. There’s a program for every type of goal, and I can’t wait to experience it with her.” prioritizing shared experiences and nurturing family bonds is clearly important to Louise.
The SISTERLY Vision: Empowering Women Through Nutrition
Launching SISTERLY with her co-founders, aoife Matthews and Jenny O’Connell, has been a defining chapter in Louise’s career. The brand’s mission is to provide women with the nutritional support they need to thrive, acknowledging the unique demands placed on the female body throughout its lifecycle.
“My plan now is to get Sisterly into the hands of every busy woman who wants to feel a little more energised, vibrant, and grounded,” Louise shares passionately. “And to build our community to one that is truly global.”
She emphasizes the importance of female collaboration and support. ”I also want to continue advising other founders on building brands that matter – because when women support women, unbelievable things happen.” This commitment to empowering other women is a driving force behind SISTERLY’s success.
Louise believes that SISTERLY isn’t just about selling a product; it’s about fostering a movement. A movement that celebrates the power of female wellbeing and encourages women to prioritize their health and happiness.
