ASUNCIÓN, Paraguay – The Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare, with support from the Pan American Health Association (PAHO), has trained 659 health officials in data collection and management as part of its Expanded Immunizations Program (PAI) strengthening plan.
The training cycle recently convened at the Crowne Plaza de Asunción, targeting vaccination representatives from the XI Sanitary Region – Central, XV Sanitary Region – President Hayes, and XVIII Sanitary Region – Capital. The PAI technical team and representatives from partner agencies actively participated.
Sessions focused on the Nominal Facts System,emphasizing data quality,accurate registration,vaccination history management,identification of duplicate records,and adherence to technical guidelines. The incorporation of data from private and international sectors was also addressed.
The activity was attended by the Technical Team of the Expanded Immunizations Program and included, among other methods, practical sessions on purification and unification of records,
according to a ministry statement.
The workshop employed a multifaceted approach, combining technical presentations, pre- and post-training assessments, group analysis, and hands-on sessions focused on record purification and unification. These activities aimed to bolster personnel skills in information management and foster a data-driven decision-making culture.

These workshops have already been conducted in San Pedro del Ycuamandi, Santa Rosa del Aguaray, San Estanislao, Itapúa, and Caaguazú.
