Interview with Doctor in Recital Members Kim Shefchik and Paul Peot on “Nite Lite with Pete Schwaba”
Pete Schwaba: Welcome to the show, everyone! Today, we’re diving into some fun discussions about healthy snacks with Konrad and our special guests, Kim Shefchik and Paul Peot from Doctors in Recital. Let’s kick things off with a light-hearted moment. I recently had to clean my own table at a restaurant—has that ever happened to you?
Konrad: Oh, definitely! It seems to be happening more these days. It’s like we’re reverting back to the days of our childhood where we had to clean our own mess. But it does get you thinking about what you’re putting on that table! Speaking of which, let’s talk healthy snacks. What are some of the easiest and healthiest options available?
Kim Shefchik: One of my favorites is definitely fresh fruit. Apples, bananas, and berries are portable and packed with energy. They’re a great snack when you’re on the go. You can also make some delicious smoothies—just throw some spinach, yogurt, and a banana in a blender, and you’ve got a nutritious drink.
Paul Peot: I love snacking on nuts! They’re filling, nutritious, and easy to pack. Just be mindful of portion sizes, though, because it’s easy to overdo it with them. Pairing them with fruits or yogurt can create a really balanced snack.
Pete Schwaba: Fantastic suggestions! It’s amazing how easy it is to eat healthy with so many options available. Now, can you share a little about Doctors in Recital? What are some of the causes you are passionate about?
Kim Shefchik: Absolutely! Doctors in Recital is an organization that combines our love for music with our commitment to community health initiatives. We perform at various events to raise awareness and funds for health programs, including mental health support and pediatric care.
Paul Peot: And it’s also a great way for us to bond as healthcare professionals through music! It allows us to express ourselves creatively while also giving back. We find that people connect with our performances and it helps bring some light to serious topics.
Pete Schwaba: I love that! You’re making a difference while having fun. Now, before we wrap up, I hear you guys are going to perform live for us in the studio. What are you going to play?
Kim Shefchik: We’ll be performing a medley of some classic hits that really lift the spirit. Our goal is to entertain and inspire, so we hope everyone enjoys it!
Paul Peot: And we promise it’ll be a fun time! It’s all about sharing joy and spreading awareness about some of those important health issues we discussed.
Pete Schwaba: Can’t wait to hear it! Thanks for joining us today, Kim and Paul. And for all our viewers, stay tuned for some great music coming your way. Plus, don’t go anywhere, because later in the show we’re tackling fun questions like “What should I binge-watch?” and exploring the most haunted hotels in Wisconsin.
Thanks for joining the conversation, and remember to keep it light and healthy!
