Heart’s Stolen Mandolin Recovered in Atlantic City

A 1966 gibson EM-50 mandolin, stolen from the rock band Heart in late May as they prepared for their “An Evening with Heart” tour, has been recovered, according to the Atlantic City Police Department. This recovery of the stolen instrument follows closely on the heels of the retrieval of Heart’s Fender Telecaster guitar last week.
Police said investigators identified the individual in possession of the mandolin, leading to its surrender. The instrument will be returned to Heart via representatives at the Hard Rock Atlantic City, where the theft occurred around 2 a.m. on May 30.
The suspect, Garfield Bennett, 57, of Pleasantville, N.J., faces charges in connection with the theft of both instruments. The instrument theft occurred inside the Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena.
