Helen Flanagan Seeks Fresh Start After “Turbulent Three Years” and Split from Robbie

Former soap star Helen Flanagan⁣ has revealed she is focusing on her children and⁤ a fresh ⁣start after a “turbulent three years,” which included⁢ her recent split from ‍boyfriend ⁤Robbie.The actress, known ⁣for her role in Coronation Street, admitted she is ‌taking a break from dating ⁤and prioritizing her well-being.

speaking to The Mirror, flanagan⁤ shared her current focus:⁣ “I’m⁣ concentrating⁣ on the kids, work, moving house and ​being with⁤ my friends.” She candidly discussed her struggles with dating, stating, “I’m​ quiet sensitive and struggle ⁣with dating. There’s⁤ always something ​with⁢ men. Now I want to be single a bit.”

Flanagan ⁤reflected on her past relationship with Robbie, describing him as “very sweet ‌and kind.” She added, ‌”He was older than me ⁤and cared about me.‌ Sometimes​ relationships just don’t work long term.”

A significant factor in her future‌ approach to relationships is the bond that formed between Robbie’s daughter, Carina, and ⁤her own daughter, Delilah. This⁤ experience has ‍made Flanagan hesitant to introduce new partners to her children in the future.

Just weeks before their separation, Flanagan had spoken glowingly about⁣ Robbie on the Daily Mail’s The Life of Bryony podcast. She ​described him as “lovely” and “the funniest guy I’ve ever met.” She also praised ⁢his positive impact on her children,saying,”He’s got two‍ kids and‌ he’s,he’s‍ really lovely with my children.”

Flanagan emphasized the importance of a partner’s mental and emotional support, stating, “I think​ that’s ⁣what made me fall more ⁤in love with him because he’s so good ​with my mental health things and that’s the main thing for me that⁣ I need.” She elaborated, “I need someone that’s good for me⁤ mentally and emotionally, that’s my⁢ top thing and that’s what I’ve realised.”

Reflecting on past relationships, she noted, “No disrespect‌ to the father of ‍my⁤ children, I’ll always have that love for him, ‌but he ⁣didn’t know how‌ to cope with me ⁤or didn’t know how‍ to do that, ⁣and⁢ not everybody⁤ does, but as the⁢ man that I’m with now really knows how to do‍ that, it makes me happy.”

The star has‌ previously​ admitted to ⁤financial difficulties, revealing⁣ she was having to sell her home after being left “broke” ​following her split from ex-fiancé Scott Sinclair in 2022. This​ period of upheaval ⁢has ⁢clearly led Flanagan to re-evaluate her priorities as she embarks on this ⁣new chapter.
