Oscar Sisto, the former theater professor on ’Star Academy,’ has faced scrutiny for his remarks directed at Héléna, a contestant on the show. Héléna responded to Sisto’s comments in a video posted on YouTube.
Sisto’s Comments Deemed ”violent”
Sisto, who taught theater for three seasons on ‘Star Academy,’ a popular televised singing competition, returned in December 2023 during Pierre Garnier’s season. His session with contestants candice and Héléna drew attention when he stated,”If you pretend to be ther,as if we were at the Grévin museum,it’s not worth it.” He also told Héléna she was “empty,” a comment she described as “so violent.”
Sisto Doubles Down on Criticism
In April 2024, Sisto appeared on the show ‘Chez Jordan,’ where he reiterated his sentiments. “I bring very prepared exercises for them, and I see that this girl gives off nothing,” Sisto said. “these people are in a reality TV show. Whatever they do, that they are bad, that they fall, that they are wrong, they are there to do the show all the time.”
He added, “Having a kind of cup of cottages does not interest anyone. You are looked at by millions of people; something has to happen.You are empty.” Sisto recounted Héléna’s reaction: “She said to me, ‘Oh, it’s violent,’ as if I had just assaulted it.” He then compared her to his cat, saying his cat had “a real look.”
Helena Responds to Sisto’s Remarks
Héléna, who recently released her debut album, “Demon,” addressed Sisto’s words in an interview with Alix Grousset on youtube. She acknowledged that Sisto had been ”super cash” with her.
“He had been super cash with me,” she recalls. She added that his teaching style “affects it a little bit” and that “It’s not my way of learning.” However, she stated that now that she writes and sings her own songs, she disregards his criticisms, though she noted that her fellow contestants did not seem to have issues with his teaching methods.
