Helena, MT – – Konnor Ralph, a 23-year-old freeskier from Helena, Montana, has been named to the U.S. Ski and Snowboard team for the Milano Cortina Olympic Winter Games in Italy. This marks Ralph’s first Olympic appearance, where he will compete in men’s slopestyle and big air.
“I don’t know if it has hit me fully yet. It feels pretty great,” Ralph said.
Ralph’s journey to the Olympics began at the age of two, when his parents first introduced him to skiing at Great Divide Ski Area, northwest of Helena. His parents, Chris and Chris Ralph, formerly of Libby, Montana, now reside in Helena and fostered his passion for the sport from a young age.
He transitioned to park skiing around age 12, after mastering the features on his local mountain. Ralph’s talent quickly became apparent, leading to a World Cup podium finish in slopestyle in Tignes, France in , and a big air podium in Aspen in .
His recent performances include a second-place finish at the Visa Big Air event in December and a fourth-place finish at the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix in January. He also finished eighth at the Laax Open in Switzerland just over a week ago. Ralph secured his first big air podium in February and was subsequently recognized as the most improved skier on the U.S. Freeski team.
Ralph has been a member of the U.S. Ski Team since . He credits the team with providing opportunities for travel and experiences around the world.
According to U.S. Ski & Snowboard, the American delegation to the Olympic Winter Games will consist of 97 athletes, including 73 from the Stifel U.S. Ski Team and 24 from the Hydro Flask U.S. Snowboard Team.
Ralph’s success follows that of fellow Montana skier Helena’s Konnor Ralph, who, along with a former Montana State Bobcat, were awarded the 2024-25 U.S. Ski Team Most Improved awards, as voted on by teammates and staff. The announcement was made on .
Ralph also made his Ski Big Air debut at X Games Aspen on , finishing seventh.
