New York,NY – This winter,New Yorkers can trade crowded commutes for pristine slopes with the launch of BLADE’s new helicopter service to Windham mountain. Starting December 20th, the urban air travel company will offer scheduled flights between Manhattan and the popular Catskills ski resort every Thursday and Sunday.
“Taking away the biggest pain point of skiing in the Northeast — the long tedious drive — savvy skiers and snowboarders will be transported between NYC and Windham in just 45 minutes,” a Windham spokesperson saeid.
The service promises a luxurious and convenient way to hit the slopes, bypassing hours of highway traffic. One-way tickets start at $695 for adults and $295 for children under 12.BLADE utilizes a Bell 407 six-seat helicopter for the flights.
“Trade crowded city sidewalks for pristine ski slopes and fly to Windham Mountain every weekend between December and March… Spend your days on the slopes, not the highway,” BLADE said in a recent press release.
More Than Just a flight
Beyond the convenience, BLADE passengers will enjoy exclusive perks. Windham Mountain Club membership amenities, including access to restaurants, the spa, and gym, will be available to all flyers.
The resort is also offering two special packages:
The Ultimate Ascent Package: Starting at $6,500, this package includes three nights at The Henson hotel, roundtrip helicopter transport, priority lift passes, and full access to members-only amenities.
The Premium Ascent Package: Priced at $11,600,this package offers everything in the Ultimate Ascent package plus complimentary spa treatments,fitness classes,private ski or snowboard lessons for the family,and othre exclusive benefits.
Weather Contingencies and Future Plans
Safety is a top priority for BLADE. In case of inclement weather that prevents air travel, the company will provide a discounted backup car service to Windham Mountain.
If the flights prove accomplished,BLADE plans to continue the service next winter,perhaps expanding the schedule to meet demand.
“Thursday and Sunday is the schedule agreed on with Windham Mountain, and that’s how it aligns with most peoples’ travel and holiday schedule,” a BLADE spokesperson said. “The schedule we built makes the most sense for people traveling from the city.”
Chartered flights outside the regular schedule are also available for those who want to hit the slopes earlier in the week.
