The Hemsworth family made a rare public appearance together Tuesday evening at the Los Angeles premiere of “Crime 101,” a new thriller starring Chris Hemsworth.
Actors Chris (42) and Liam Hemsworth (36) were accompanied by their parents, Leonie (66) and Craig (70), at the premiere. Images from the red carpet show the family posing elegantly together.
In “Crime 101,” Hemsworth plays Mike Davis, one of the leads in a story centered around a series of seemingly orchestrated jewelry heists initially attributed to Colombian cartels.
The family outing comes as Chris Hemsworth has been publicly discussing his father’s recent Alzheimer’s diagnosis and his own increased awareness of his genetic predisposition to the disease. Craig Hemsworth received his diagnosis several years ago, and Chris revealed he carries a gene that puts him at eight to ten times higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s himself.
Chris Hemsworth recently opened up about the emotional toll of confronting his family’s health challenges, and his decision to document the experience in a new project. He described the documentary, titled “A Road Trip To Remember,” as a “love letter to [his] father.”
The documentary, which debuted in late 2025, follows Chris and his father on a road trip across Australia, exploring how connection and community can help combat the effects of dementia. The project stemmed from his work on the TV series “Limitless: Live Better Now,” where he underwent genetic testing that revealed his elevated risk.
Hemsworth admitted to struggling with the decision to share such personal details publicly. “I wondered if I was letting people too far in,” he told the Guardian earlier this month. “Are they still going to believe in the action star or the Marvel character I play? And do I want people to know about my fears and insecurities at this level?”
Despite his initial hesitation, Hemsworth considers the documentary to be one of the most important projects he’s ever undertaken. “It’s so deeply personal,” he said. “It was a love letter to my father.”
The diagnosis has prompted Hemsworth to reassess his priorities, both personally and professionally. He has three children with his wife, Elsa Pataky (49), and says the experience has given him a new perspective on his career.
Hemsworth has spoken about slowing down his pace and being more selective about the roles he takes on. He emphasized the importance of spending time with his family and focusing on what truly matters.
“Crime 101” also stars Halle Berry, Mark Ruffalo, and Barry Keoghan. The film is currently receiving attention for its ensemble cast and suspenseful plot.
