Henderson, NC – Grand Master Bobby Scott, a renowned martial arts instructor from Henderson, has been honored with induction into the Philadelphia Historic Martial Arts Society Hall of Fame. The ceremony,held in Pennsylvania on July 9,recognized Scott’s remarkable contributions to the martial arts community both locally and internationally.

He has also traveled extensively throughout the United States, sharing his knowledge and inspiring countless individuals in his hometown of Henderson.
Scott’s journey began at the age of nine when a missionary pastor and his son visited his church, Cotton Memorial Presbyterian Church, in 1958. Inspired by their presentation, he embarked on a lifelong pursuit of martial arts mastery. He earned his first black belt at the Pittsburgh Isshinryu Academy and further honed his skills under the tutelage of Grand Master Ark Yuey Wong in Los Angeles.
Throughout his career,Scott has operated martial arts schools in Los Angeles,Shreveport,Louisiana,Phoenix,Arizona,and Henderson. He currently leads the Golden Tiger Kung Fu academy in Henderson, continuing to pass on his knowledge and passion to new generations.”Martial arts eliminate the need to be the aggressor,” Scott emphasizes. “They teach us to utilize our minds and voices to find peaceful resolutions to conflict.”
Beyond his martial arts expertise, Scott is a dedicated community leader. As a local representative of First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” fitness program, he actively works with Vance county Schools to promote health and fitness initiatives.

Grand Master Scott: Martial arts are not about promoting violence. Thay are about discipline, self-control, and utilizing our minds and voices to find peaceful solutions to conflict.

Grand Master Scott: I believe in empowering individuals and communities through fitness and healthy living. Working with Vance County Schools to promote the “Let’s Move” initiative allows me to contribute to a healthier future for our youth.
