Influencer Henrique Maderite to be Laid to Rest in Belo Horizonte
The wake for Brazilian influencer Henrique Maderite will be held this Sunday (February 8) at the Bosque da Esperança Cemetery, located in the Jaqueline neighborhood of Belo Horizonte. The ceremony will begin at “mei dia” – midday – a reference to Maderite’s signature catchphrase, and will be open to the public until 4:00 PM. Following this, the service will be reserved for family and close friends, with the burial scheduled for 5:00 PM.
Maderite’s Unexpected Passing
Henrique Maderite, 50, was found without life on Friday (February 6) at his private horse ranch, the “Haras Henrique Maderite,” located on Estrada Maracujá in the Amarantina district of Ouro Preto, in the central region of Minas Gerais. Local authorities were alerted by concerned neighbors.
According to initial reports, Maderite reportedly died from a sudden heart attack. Family members released a statement saying, “It’s a difficult pain to explain, but also an immense legacy.”
Born in Belo Horizonte, Maderite amassed over 2 million followers on social media, becoming widely known for his weekly “Sextou BB” posts – a playful celebration of Fridays. His last video was published around noon on Friday, just hours before his death.
Police reported that Maderite was found with a lesion on the back of his head, along with bleeding in his ear and abrasions on his neck. While initial suspicions pointed towards a heart attack, the cause of death remains under investigation.
A Legacy of Joy and Philanthropy
Maderite’s influence extended beyond entertainment. He was known for his charitable work, notably raising over R$2.6 million (approximately $520,000 USD) for victims of severe rainfall in Minas Gerais in 2022, in partnership with the Fundamar Foundation. He also spearheaded efforts to raise funds for those affected by the recent floods.
News of Maderite’s death prompted an outpouring of grief from public figures, including Minas Gerais Governor Romeu Zema, federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, and numerous football clubs from the state. Governor Zema expressed his sadness, stating that “on a Friday, one of our most cheerful miners has left us.”
Maderite was married to Fernanda Maciel, and together they had three children: Henrique Júnior, Ana Clara, and Stella Maciel Mascarenhas. His son, Henrique Júnior, works at the Vique Construction company, while his daughter, Ana Clara, is a civil engineer who collaborates with her father in marketing efforts.
