Henry de Bromhead’s Jumps Season Outlook

A recent History of Success
Henry de Bromhead experienced an unprecedented run of success at the 2021 Cheltenham Festival. Honeysuckle won the Champion Hurdle, Put The kettle On secured victory in the Champion Chase, and Minella Indo triumphed in the Gold Cup, with A Plus Tard finishing second – a remarkable clean sweep of the Festival’s premier races.
This success continued just three weeks later at the aintree Grand National, were Minella Times, ridden by rachael Blackmore, won, breaking barriers in the sport. Balko Des Flos further cemented de Bromhead’s dominance by finishing second, giving the trainer a 1-2 finish in the world’s most famous steeplechase (Racing Post).
De Bromhead’s horses continued to excel the following year. Honeysuckle repeated her Champion hurdle win, and A Plus Tard won the Gold Cup, reversing the previous year’s order with Minella Indo. This marked consecutive victories in both the Champion Hurdle and the Gold Cup for the trainer (Irish Times).
Current Form and Early Season Success
Despite past glories, de Bromhead emphasizes continuous betterment. He focuses on the next race, the next horse, and the next win, a beliefs that has established him as a leading figure in National Hunt racing.
The current season has begun promisingly for de Bromhead. He achieved a record number of National Hunt winners in Ireland during October, surpassing any previous single month as he began training. Since the start of October, he has maintained a strike rate exceeding 34%, and has already secured his first Grade 1 victory of the season with Envoi Allen, who won the Champion Chase at Down Royal for the second consecutive year (Sporting Life).
