Las Vegas⁢ – Former​ Las Vegas‌ Raiders wide receiver Henry ⁤Ruggs III,during ​a special ⁤release from prison Tuesday,expressed remorse to ⁣the family of Tina Tintor,the woman who‍ died in a 2021 ⁤car crash he caused. The apology came at a Hope for Prisoners event in Las ‍Vegas.

On ⁢Nov. 2,⁤ 2021, Ruggs drove his⁤ sports ‌car at speeds reaching 156 mph before colliding with⁤ Tintor’s vehicle. Tintor, 23, adn⁢ her dog, Max, died in ​the crash. The incident led to ruggs’s departure⁢ from ⁣the NFL and subsequent prison⁤ sentence.

Asked what he would say to Tintor’s‌ family,⁢ Ruggs ‌said, “One, I wish I could turn back the hands⁤ of time. I would love for them to meet the real Henry Ruggs⁢ and not the one that was escaping ‌from something. I sincerely apologize for not only being a part of that situation, but the fact my face‍ is always in the news, it’s always in the newspaper. So they have to constantly be reminded of the situation, be‌ reminded of me.”
