Former NFL player Henry Ruggs III is scheduled to appear before a Nevada parole board panel on May 11, 2026. Ruggs, 27, is listed on an amended agenda for the Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners as an individual being considered for release.
Ruggs is currently being held at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City. The parole board hearing is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas, with the prison connected to the proceedings via video conferencing.
According to the meeting notice, the appearance of prisoners is not guaranteed, as they can be removed from the agenda for several reasons. The panel is permitted to hear victim statements during the process, but the notice specifies that no public comment is accepted.
Any recommendation made by the panel regarding the release of Ruggs must be sent to the full seven-member Board of Parole Commissioners for final approval.
The parole consideration follows a 2021 incident in which Ruggs pleaded guilty to driving drunk at 156 miles per hour. His actions caused a fiery crash that resulted in the death of 23-year-old Tina Tintor and her dog, Max.
At the time of the collision in 2021, Ruggs was a wide receiver for the Las Vegas Raiders and was playing in his second season with the team.
In 2023, Ruggs was sentenced to serve a term of three to 10 years in the Nevada Department of Corrections.
His period of incarceration began at High Desert State Prison. He was subsequently moved to transitional housing in Las Vegas before prison officials transferred him to the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in December 2025.
