The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on the 24th (local time) that Ibrahim Muhammad Qubaisi, the head of Hezbollah’s missile and rocket unit, was killed in an airstrike in Lebanon.

According to the Times of Israel (TOI) and CNN, the Israeli army released a video of the air attack on Lebanon that day and made this statement.

The Israeli military said Kubaisi was “responsible for launching missiles against Israel for many years and during the war,” and was “a key source of missile intelligence and close to Hezbollah’s senior military leadership.”

According to the Israeli army, Qubaisi planned kidnapping attacks and other attacks on Mount Dob in the 2000s. In the attack, Israeli soldiers Sergeant Benjamin Abraham, Sergeant Adi Avitan, and Sergeant Omar Sawad were killed and kidnapped. Their bodies were returned in a prisoner exchange in 2004.

Qubaisi, who joined Hezbollah in 1908, held several important positions, including senior positions in the counterterrorist operations department, the Israeli army said.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that 6 people were killed and 15 injured during the Israeli air strike on Lebanon.

Pictures from the scene showed smoke rising from the top two floors of the flat.

As Israel continued its large-scale airstrikes in Lebanon on the 24th following the previous day, the death toll rose to 558, the Lebanese Ministry of Health said.

The Ministry of Health added that 50 were children and 94 were women among them.

The Minister of Health, Firas Abyad, said that another 1,835 people were injured and that the injured were being treated in 54 hospitals across Lebanon.
