Pachuca,Hidalgo -‌ As winter descends and cases of respiratory illnesses climb,Hidalgo is falling short of its vaccination goals for influenza and COVID-19.

According to the Hidalgo secretary of Health, less than ⁢50%‌ of the target‍ population has ⁤received the flu⁤ and COVID-19 vaccines as​ of November 15th. This comes amidst a surge in⁢ cases of respiratory infections, highlighting the urgency of widespread vaccination.

COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts

While 148,922 COVID-19⁢ vaccine doses have been administered‌ out⁢ of a total of 164,590 received by the state’s healthcare sector, this represents only 37% of the overall target of 400,580 doses.

The influenza vaccination campaign has seen 416,418‍ doses administered,representing 30% of the target goal. With 534,200 ​doses currently available, the ‍state aims ⁣to vaccinate 865,271 individuals against influenza.

Rising Cases of Influenza and COVID-19

The hidalgo Secretary of Health has reported 355 influenza cases this year, resulting⁣ in 25 ​deaths. ‌ Meanwhile, 438 COVID-19 cases have been ⁣recorded in 47 weeks, with 48 fatalities.

Tulancingo municipality leads with 14 cases, including one fatality. Santiago Tulantepec and Singuilucan follow with 5 ‌and 3 ‍cases respectively, ‌each reporting two deaths.
