According to the Hidalgo secretary of Health, less than 50% of the target population has received the flu and COVID-19 vaccines as of November 15th. This comes amidst a surge in cases of respiratory infections, highlighting the urgency of widespread vaccination.
COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts
While 148,922 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered out of a total of 164,590 received by the state’s healthcare sector, this represents only 37% of the overall target of 400,580 doses.

The influenza vaccination campaign has seen 416,418 doses administered,representing 30% of the target goal. With 534,200 doses currently available, the state aims to vaccinate 865,271 individuals against influenza.
Rising Cases of Influenza and COVID-19
The hidalgo Secretary of Health has reported 355 influenza cases this year, resulting in 25 deaths. Meanwhile, 438 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in 47 weeks, with 48 fatalities.
