- “There’s a moment where Dredd and Anderson are briefly able to leave the concrete dome covering Peach trees. Anderson scans the horizon, which focuses on the countless skyscrapers just like Peach Trees, and realizes that all the violence and mayhem she’s gone through is probably happening hundreds of times over just in their Megacity in every single tower (let alone the ground).”

- “A montage of found footage after the survivors escape on a boat shows that they run out of food, run out of fuel, and the island they wash up on is chock full of zombies that promptly overwhelm them on the pier.”
We often get so caught up in the plot of our favorite movies and shows that we miss some seriously disturbing details. Here are some horrifying things you probably didn’t notice the frist time around:
1. The Wizard of Oz (1939)
While Dorothy and her friends journey through Oz, the Wicked Witch of the West isn’t the only villain. the Munchkins, the little people Dorothy meets at the beginning of the film, were rumored to have been a source of exploitation and abuse during production. Some accounts claim the actors were paid very little, were subjected to harsh working conditions, and were even harassed by crew members. the cheerful facade of Munchkinland hides a dark history.
2. Psycho (1960)
Alfred Hitchcock‘s masterpiece is famous for its shocking shower scene, but did you know the “blood” used wasn’t actually blood? It was chocolate syrup! This was done to make the scene more suggestive than graphic, but the unsettling imagery remains incredibly effective. The scene also took days to film, with over 70 different camera angles.
3. The Shining (1980)
Stanley kubrick was known for his perfectionism, and The Shining is a testament to that. Shelley Duvall, who played Wendy Torrance, was reportedly subjected to intense psychological abuse by Kubrick during filming. He isolated her, repeatedly demanded retakes, and created a hostile habitat that left her emotionally scarred. The film’s terrifying atmosphere was, in part, fueled by the real-life suffering of its star.
4. Poltergeist (1982)
This supernatural horror film is plagued by a real-life tragedy. Several members of the cast died shortly after the film’s release, leading to rumors of a curse. Dominique Dunne, who played dana Freeling, was murdered by her ex-boyfriend just months after the film premiered. Heather O’Rourke, the adorable Carol Anne, died from complications of intestinal stenosis at the age of 12 before the release of Poltergeist III. The coincidences are chilling.
5. The Exorcist (1973)
The Exorcist is notorious for its disturbing content, but the production was also fraught with problems. The set for the MacNeil house was actually a dilapidated old house with a history of violence. Several crew members experienced unexplained accidents and illnesses during filming, and some even reported feeling a malevolent presence. The film’s unsettling atmosphere may have been more than just special effects.
6. Children of the Corn (1984)
During the filming of Children of the Corn, several strange occurrences were reported. One of the child actors playing a creepy cornfield kid reportedly drowned in a swimming pool under mysterious circumstances. The crew also claimed to have experienced equipment malfunctions and unsettling feelings while filming in the remote cornfields.
7. Twilight Zone: The Dummy (1962)
This episode of The Twilight Zone features a ventriloquist and his dummy, Willie. The story is unsettling enough, but the episode is also haunted by a tragic real-life event. The actor who played the ventriloquist, Cliff Robertson, had a strained relationship with his own son, who later committed suicide. Some believe the episode reflects Robertson’s personal struggles and grief.
8.Cannibal holocaust (1980)
This Italian horror film is infamous for its graphic violence and exploitation. Director Ruggero Deodato was actually arrested and charged with obscenity and murder after the film’s release,as some viewers believed the actors had been killed on camera. Deodato had to prove that the actors were still alive to avoid a murder conviction. The film remains highly controversial and disturbing.
9. the Omen (1976)
Like Poltergeist, The Omen was plagued by a series of unfortunate events during production.Several people connected to the film died in accidents that seemed eerily coincidental. A crew member was decapitated in a car accident, a special effects artist died in a car crash, and the hotel where the cast and crew were staying was struck by lightning.“`html
