hideo Kojima: A Director Who Must Create
Hideo Kojima, the visionary creator behind the Metal Gear Solid series and Death Stranding, has stated his firm intention to remain actively involved in the development of his games. In a recent interview with Ananweb (via Genki), Kojima reflected on his future as a director and emphatically ruled out taking a backseat role in his projects.
“Sometimes,I imagine a life in which I do [the best-selling product] I make money and I show up at the company after a long time to say,’How’s everyone?'” Kojima admitted. Though, he quickly dismissed this as a fantasy, stating that such a scenario is not somthing he desires.
“Making the best-selling thing is not my job. I woudl stay at home with nothing to do and I wouldn’t know what to do. Just watching Blu-rays at home is boring,” he commented. “I always want to continue working with my own hands.” This statement underscores Kojima’s deep passion for the creative process and his need to be directly involved in bringing his visions to life.
