High-Speed Chase Ends in Collision
A police pursuit on the 405 Freeway in Culver City ended in a serious crash into a home on Saturday night. Three individuals were arrested, and a firearm was recovered at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the chase began around 9:41 p.m. Officers tried to stop a burgundy Dodge Durango driving on the freeway’s right shoulder, but the driver refused to stop.
The chase continued northbound, and the driver exited the freeway at Culver Boulevard. The vehicle hit a guardrail and then crashed into a home on Sawtelle Boulevard. The house suffered significant damage in the living room, but no residents were injured.
The driver was arrested at the scene. Two passengers were also taken into custody. A handgun was found near the Durango.
One passenger shared their experience with reporters after the crash. They said, “I thought I was going to die because it was like, ‘Boom! Boom! Boom! I’ve got blood on my hands still. I thought we were dead.”
