Government Recruitment of Administrative Officials: 50 Vacancies Available
The annual recruitment of Administrative Officers is about to begin, and this year the government is offering 50 Administrative Officer (AO) vacancies and 200 Administrative Officer II vacancies. The starting pay point for an Administrative Officer is $61,865, while the starting pay point for an Administrative Officer II is $35,080. Candidates can apply online from this Saturday (14) to October 4.
Eligibility and Benefits
The Civil Service Office said that the government will launch the joint recruitment exercise for Administrative Officer, Administrative Officer II, Deputy Commercial Officer II, and Transport Officer II in 2024-25 this Saturday (14). Among them, the number of vacancies for the most sought-after Administrative Officer remains the same as last year (50), while the number of vacancies for Administrative Officer II has decreased from 220 last year to 200 this year.

- Administrative Officer: Monthly salary $61,865, 18 days of vacation
- Administrative Officer II: Monthly salary $35,080, 18 days regular leave
- Deputy Commercial Officer II: Monthly salary $33,405, 18 days regular leave
- Transport Officer II: Monthly salary $33,405, 18 days vacation
Application Requirements
All Hong Kong permanent residents who meet the relevant entry requirements are eligible to apply, and students who are currently studying for a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and will graduate in 2025 or 26 are also eligible to apply. Applicants must have passed the “Hong Kong Basic Law and National Security Law” test. Those who have not yet obtained the qualifications will be arranged to take part in a special test tentatively scheduled for December 7 this year.
