A chance encounter – sparked by a billboard advertisement – lead to her meeting Galen Weston, whom she married in 1966. The couple initially settled in Ireland before relocating to Toronto in 1971, where Ms. Weston became a Canadian citizen.Her business acumen quickly became apparent as she became deeply involved in the family’s expanding interests. These included a meaningful role within the luxury retail chain Brown Thomas in Ireland,overseeing its acquisitions of the Switzer group and Arnotts.
